A George III mahogany satinwood, boxwood and harewood inlaid longcase clock, late 18th century, the caddy top surmounted by three brass eagle and ball finials, the frieze incised with a pen work leaf motif above boxwood and harewood foliate corners over a glazed door flanked by square boxwood strung tapering columns and enclosing a 13" brass dial with silvered chapter ring, roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial and marked Martin, Crosby with an engraved diaper centre and foliate pierced spandrels with a painted rolling moon phase in the arch, 8 day movement striking on a bell above a cockbeaded and chequer strung trunk door centred by a boxwood and harewood conch shell motif between satinwood canted angles over an ogive and cushion moulding and conforming base board with fan bracket corners and raised on later ogee bracket feet, restorations, 84 high
