Theodor Rocholl (1854 - 1933) - Kürassiere im Deutsch-Französischen Krieg, Düsseldorf, datiert 1896 Öl auf Leinwand. Großformatige, dynamische Darstellung eines heftigen Reitergefechtes zwischen preußischen und französischen Kürassieren. Links unten signiert und datiert "Th. Rocholl / Düssldf. 96". In schwerem Rahmen aus vergoldetem Holz mit geschwungenen Stuckleisten (an den Ecken bestoßen). Bildmaße 95 x 124 cm, Maße gerahmt 125 x 152 cm.Theodor Rocholl (1854 - 1933) war deutscher Maler, Grafiker und Schriftsteller. Ab 1871 studierte er an der Kunstakademie Dresden bei Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld und Ludwig Richter. Später setzte er seine Studien an der Kunstakademie in München bei Karl Theodor von Piloty und an der Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie fort. Er wurde für seine Landschaften und vor allem für seine meisterhaften Schlachtengemälde hoch geschätzt.

Große Reiterbronze Kaiser Wilhelms I., August Herzig, Dresden, datiert 1879 Bronze, patiniert. Darstellung des Kaisers in Uniform, auf seinem Pferd eines der Schlachtfelder des 70er-Krieges inspizierend. Der Kaiser mit Helm und langem Mantel, mit der rechten Hand zur Seite weisend, in der linken die Zügel führend. Das Pferd im Schritt mit vom Wind verwehter Mähne. Auf der Plinthe zerbrochenes Kriegsgerät und eine gefallene französische Standarte. Auf der Plinthe signiert "A. Herzig 1879". Zaumzeug defekt, die Degenscheide geknickt, größerer Riss am rechten Oberarm. Höhe 63 cm, Länge 64 cm, Gewicht 38 kg.August Albert Theodor Herzig (* 3. August 1846 in Hamburg; † 11. Juli 1919 in Dresden), deutscher Bildhauer. Begann um 1865 ein Studium an der Hamburger Gewerbeschule. Von 1872 bis 1875 studierte er an der Dresdner Kunstakademie bei Ernst Julius Hähnel und Johannes Schilling. Neben Denkmälern und Figuren für öffentliche Plätze deutscher Städte, wie z.B. Darmstadt und Hamburg, entwarf er auch verschiedene Künstlerfiguren für die Porzellanmanufaktur Meissen.

Goldene Taschenuhr von Saxonia, Dresden Goldenes Gehäuse, die beidseitigen Deckel mit feinst graviertem Reichsadler und umlaufendem floralen Dekor. Weißes Emaillezifferblatt mit schwarzen arabischen Zahlen und innenliegendem roten Stundenkreis von 13 - 24, kleiner Sekunde auf der "6" und Bezeichnung "Saxonia". Körnig vergoldetes Werk mit 17 Steinen, Handaufzug und Saxonia-Frauenpunze. Funktionsfähig. Die Deckel mit Feingehaltspunze "0,585" sowie Schweizer und deutschen Kontrollstempeln. Durchmesser ca. 52 mm. Funktionsfähig. Im nicht dazugehörigen Aufbewahrungsetui. Der Uhrenfabrikant Albrecht Költzsch aus Gruna bei Dresden bot um 1910 unter dem Vertriebsnamen SAXONIA Taschenuhren mit Schweizer Uhrwerken an.

Theodor Rocholl (1854 - 1933) - Garde du Corps auf Vormarsch 1870/71, datiert 1911 Öl auf Leinwand, Keilrahmen, links unten signiert und datiert "Th. Rocholl 1911". Das Regiment der Gardes du Corps zu Pferd auf einem Feldweg entlang eines Birkenwaldes. Sehr feine Ausführung, die weißen Koller mit den ponceauroten Abzeichen sowie die frühen Helme vor 1889 hervorragend dargestellt. Bildmaße 59 x 47 cm. In neuerem Rahmen, Maße 76 x 64 cm.Theodor Rocholl, einer der bekanntesten deutschen Militär- und Schlachtenmaler, studierte an drei Kunstakademien: ab 1871 in Dresden unter Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld, von 1872 bis 1877 in München unter Carl Theodor von Piloty und von 1878 bis 1883 als Meisterschüler in Düsseldorf unter Eduard Gebhardt. Rocholl nahm als Maler 1897 am Türkisch-Griechischen Krieg, 1900/01 an der China-Expedition, 1910/11 am Türkisch-Albanischen Krieg sowie am Ersten Weltkrieg teil.

A rare early 17th century Saxony gilt copper mounted serpentine tankard, c.1600, the tapered smooth banded body with gilt copper mounts with snipped leaf shaped edges with engraved detail, including a central band, the lid opening with thumbpiece and the handle with engraved chevron pattern, 20.5cm high including finialThe use of Saxon serpentine has been documented since the late 15th century. Across Europe, serpentine was one of the most sought after natural resources. By the 1630s in England the tankard was no longer in fashion in court circles because its use was widespread throughout society. A comparable serpentine tankard with a gold-plated silver mount can be found in the Green Vault of the Staatl. Art collections in Dresden (inv. no.
