A rare Chad Valley Mabel Lucy Attwell cloth doll in original box/bed, English 1920s, the felt face with blue glass eyes, painted lashes, brows and mouth, short brown hair and swivel head to velvet body, jointed at shoulders and hips, wearing red and peach felt dress with applique flowers, shoes and socks, in a brown card box decorated with Chad Valley toys including Bonzo, Pip, Squeak and Wilfred, Teddy bear and dolls, with label, when lid lifted the doll is displayed on a gold card bed with drawer, doll 14” (36cm) tall, (condition: doll very clean, small brown stains to hands, some tiny holes beneath left cheek, back of neck and dress).
