Registration No: CUF 202C Chassis No: VRS33173 MOT: Exempt1 of just c.6,555 examples madeOffered with an extensive history fileDisplaying only c.36,000 credible milesFirst registered in April 1965. Supplied new by Stringers of BrightonAnnounced in August 1964, the Princess 4-Litre R featured a Rolls-Royce, all-aluminium, 175bhp engine enabling an unusually high power-to-weight ratio enabling cruising at 90mph and a top speed in period of 112mph. The engine was the product of over two years of technical collaboration between BMC and Rolls-Royce. Twin SU carburettors were fitted, both the cylinder block and head were aluminium, tappets were hydraulic self-adjusting operating on overhead valves configuration and the counter-balanced crankshaft ran in seven main bearings, reducing vibration. Pricing aimed at challenging the MkX Jaguar was a major change of market positioning, aiming at growth in the prestige and executive market segments of Europe and the United States. The 4.0 R was luxurious with polished walnut fascia, padded top and bottom, fully reclinable leather seats and polished picnic tables for the rear passengers. A new automatic transmission was provided by Borg-Warner; its first use in a British car, and Hydrosteer variable-ratio power steering accompanied wider tyres.Purchased on 22nd April 1965, ‘CUF’ was supplied new by Stringers of Brighton as one of just c.6,555 examples produced. A Mr Letts of Brighton was the registered keeper until his passing in 1985 and the transfer of ownership to a family member who kept it until 2011. The car was in storage from 1992 until 2010, at which point it was put back on the road. Recommissioned with a brake overhaul, new fuel tank and a carburettor overhaul, bodywork restoration and a repaint commenced sometime in early 2012. ‘CUF’ then passed into the custodianship of subsequent owners from Southampton to Southport before coming to our vendor in June 2019 with some mechanical fettling initiated. The 4-Litre has only covered some 36,000 credible miles from new, with some 30 old MOTs on record in the history file and receipts dating back to 1968, going some way to verify the very low mileage. The 4-Litre has clocked up only some 1,024 miles in the last 13 years, according to the DVSA records. ‘CUF’ is offered with an extensive history file, an original brochure and a booklet for the original Radiomobile radio, a Vanden Plas Owner’s Club Dating Certificate, MOT certificates dating back to 1968, a collection of invoices and the Passport to Service. Registration - P423 PUGChassis No. - JMZNA18P200309338M.O.T. - November 2025Odometer - 33,000photographs coming shortlySumptuous in Vin Rouge Mica paintwork, this example of Mazda’s MX5 is the limited run Merlot edition; the convertible featuring this unique and lustrous body colour, presented over grey leather interior. Powered by the 1.8i engine of the standard MkI Mazda MX-5, the Merlot edition also used the same five-speed manual gearbox - the pairing going on to put Mazda’s roadster into legend. Distinct features include 15-spoke alloys, the touched leather upholstery with burgundy-coloured piping, wood effect dashboard, wooden gear knob and handbrake, rear mud guards, CD stereo, immobiliser, and Merlot badging. Just 600 models were produced, and features include central locking, electric windows, stainless steel kick plates, original Clarion stereo, original cotton Mazda car cover, and wind deflector.‘P423 PUG’ is offered for sale with an extremely low indicated mileage at just 33,000 miles on the odometer. It’s presented as a highly original model, with one owner from new until December of 2023, having covered 32,000 miles to that point. That owner was a now retired engineer, who cherished ‘P423 PUG’, an attitude that the current owner has clearly continued. The alloys are described as unmarked by the vendor, as is the upholstery. It is described as never having been repainted or welded, and feature a fully documented service and MOT history, including cam belt change in 2020. Originally ordered from JCT Leeds, ‘P423 PUG’ comes with original owners brochure and book pack, and has been professionally detailed and ceramic coated. As such, the owner unsurprisingly rates this MX-5 as ‘excellent’ across the board, covering engine, transmission, electrics, bodywork, paintwork, and interior.Limited edition Merlot specification - one of just 600 modelsHighly original conditionSought after clean MkI Mazda MX-5Inspired by post-war British roadsters - at a time when practically nobody else was making them - Mazda launched its MX-5 in 1989, to instant acclaim. Named the Eunos Roadster in Japan and Miata in the US, the MX-5 - by whichever name it is known - has gone on to become one of the most influential cars in history, restarting the compact, open-top sportscar market almost singlehandedly. The first-generation model stuck with the simple front engine, rear wheel drive, two-seater convertible configuration, though a hard-top was offered as an optional extra. In the UK, it was powered by a 1.8-litre engine, but other parts of the world also had a 1.6-litre motor, or 2.0-litre engine. An automatic was offered in certain markets, but the MX-5 is a car that deserves to be driven and as such, it is the five-speed manuals that are most popular. The first-generation model was produced until 1997, when it was replaced by the Mark II (NB) model.
Registration - RS02 BAKChassis No. - WF0BXXGCDB2A88612M.O.T. - June 2025Odometer - 34,000When someone coined the phrase “originality is key,” they could have had RS02BAK in mind. RS02BAK has seemed to completely escape the fate that befell so many of its compatriots – somewhat dubious and ill-considered modification. With just three owners to date having covered a very modest 34,474 miles, RS02BAK represents a thrilling an rare ownership proposition. With a service book bulging with stamps – 12 in all with the latest at 34,355 miles – and an advisory free MOT valid until June 2025, this RS is ready to thrill. To accompany its incomparable originality, RS02BAK comes with the original book pack, OEM RS mats, jack, tools and space saver and even an original marketing brochure. Two original keys are included as is the RS-specific personalised registration plate.Inspired by the Focus RS world rally car of the time, Ford threw the kitchen sink at the RS’s specification. Sachs dampers, wide-track suspension, a Quaife limited-slip diff, OZ wheels and a Garrett turbocharger were just a few of the mechanical goodies featured. The cabin got custom Sparco, RS embossed race seats, splashes of alloy and even some carbon fibre. That’s the good news. The great news is RS02BAK exhibits all these, and more, in stunning original condition. The Imperial Blue livery helps accentuate the bulging wheel arches and the deep front spoiler of RS02BAK. The original OZ Racing, 18-inch five spoke alloys are in excellent shape and provide home to a matching set of Michelin Pilot Sport tyres dated 2020. The Brembo emblazoned callipers are clearly visible through the open spokes. The owner rates the paint and bodywork as 4 out of 5, possibly because 4.5 wasn’t an available option. The cabin presents in original specification and the leather and suedecloth seats with their high backs, RS embossing and vibrant blue stripes, emphatically steal the show.RS02BAK features the RS’s turbocharged 2.0 litre Duratec engine, fettled by Ford to originally produce 212 bhp. That doesn’t sound like much today but nether does the sub 1300 kgs of weight it is asked to propel. Consequently 140 mph was readily achievable as was a 0-60 mph time starting with a six. It was the RS’s eagerness and handling finesse that most drivers would rave about, however. Here is your chance to find out what all the fuss is about. In summary:A low mileage, low owner example of this example of noughties hot hatch royaltyPresenting in a rarely seen, entirely original specification and conditionComplete with an exemplary service history and bulging paperwork file

Originally available as a coupe, the convertible Spyder arrived in 2008, followed by GT models with improved performance in 2011. Low mileage and low owner exampleVery well-maintained exampleLike the Triumph 2000 it was developed from, the Triumph Stag it was styled by Italian maestro Giovanni Michelotti and featured the monocoque construction, independent suspension, disc/drum brakes, power-assisted rack and the pinion steering and driveline of that saloon. All Stags were four-seater convertible coupés but for structural rigidity and to meet new American rollover standards at the time, the Stag required a B-pillar 'roll bar' hoop connected to the windscreen frame by a T-bar. The power plant though, was an all-new OHC, V8 of 3000cc capacity fed by a pair of Stromberg carburettors and the newcomer received a warm reception at the time of launch in 1970, although longevity of the engine proved to be a problem. Most Stags were fitted with a Borg Warner automatic gearbox together with electric windows, power steering and power-assisted brakes fitted as standard. Very desirable, the Stag is well supported through various clubs and specialist suppliers. This wonderful privately owned example was first registered on 23rd June 1976, presented in Tahiti Blue with black interior which reflects the very low mileage for this example with very good woodwork and manual gearbox. Boasting the original hardtop in very good condition with a good soft top, the car has had just six owners in 49 years including our motoring enthusiast owner since 2018. In recent years the car has been very well looked after and maintained and upon inspection the V8 fired up on first turn of the key. The history file includes history back to 1976 including original Triumph passport to service book and Brochure coupled to numerous MoT certificates and invoices. If you are looking for a very good Stag , look no further, sensibly priced and in very good order with an MoT certificate until June 2025 ready to enjoy. Consigned by Mathew Priddy*Interested parties should note that after an extensive drive we have noticed a slight brake bind on the rear driver's side on this example. For more information on this lot please email mrp@historics.co.uk - 52,900 MILES FROM NEW AND LOW OWNERSHIP- VERY WELL MAINTAINED EXAMPLE
The 1960 Sunbeam Alpine series II is a classic British sports car known for its sleek design and spirited performance. Manufactured by the Rootes Group, it featured a compact body with elegant lines and a distinctive convertible top. The series II featured an engine that was enlarged over its predecessor to a 1.6 litre four-cylinder unit producing 80 bhp. It offered a blend of agility and style, making it popular among driving enthusiasts. The Alpine’s lightweight construction contributed to its nimble handling, while its interior, though simple, provided a comfortable experience for drivers and passengers alikeThis attractive Series II example was originally registered in November 1960 and presents wonderfully in Lake Blue with a red interior. This Alpine is fitted with overdrive and has recently benefitted from a new vinyl roof, hardware for the tonneau, new door cards and exhaust. Also present is a rare factory hardtop. This classic convertible is part of a deceased estate and as such, has not been driven for a few years during which time we are informed that it has, it always been garaged. On a recent inspection, it started first time and ran well. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document, a buff logbook and an original sales brochure. With its charming aesthetics and fun driving dynamics, it is easy to see why the Sunbeam Alpine was the original car of choice for James Bond in Dr No where we see Sean Connery driving a Lake blue example in Jamaica.
