Panzer Division circa 1940 (slight wear) The set presumably celebrates the part that the 4th Panzer Division played in the battle to take the Belgian front line fortress of Eben Emael (which in fact fell comparatively easily to German paratroops). The 4th Panzer Division was part of the spearhead of the German 6th Army Group (Reichenau) that crossed the Mass and Albert canal going around the fortress. By this stage the fortÕs guns were neutralised and efforts by Allied aircraft to bomb the bridges and cut off this advance guard failed and thus they could proceed into Belgium.
