Reg'd Quebec', dated 1955, size 22, Height 5' 7" to 5' 8", breast 41-42, a second pattern Denison Smock, quarter zip in brass with 'Swift' slider to front, 'Newey' press studs throughout, 'tail' with press studs for fastening to the back, knitted cuffs (no signs of any tabs ever having been fitted so this is believed to be a later version of the 2nd Pattern from after 1952 when the the knitted cuffs were reverted in the specifications, the 3rd Patter Denison Smock with full length zip was issued in 1959, the original cuffs appear to have been replaced with sock tops in blue), silk/nylon panels added to the inside of the collar presumably for comfort, Photographs: a framed photograph showing Major Perry, while a captain, at a ceremony at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, he is on the left of the main group, interestingly, the gentleman 2nd from the right appears to be wearing the badge of the Free French parachute battalions which was a British Parachute Regiment cap badge with the 21 1926 in Birkenhead, his father Samuel won the M.C on the Somme while serving with the Kings regiment, he was commissioned into the 12th (Prince of Wales) Royal Lancers in 1945 after passing out of Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, he was posted on secondment to The Kenya Armoured Car Regiment in anticipation of it being moved to Burma but on the surrender of the Japanese, the unit was sent to Somaliland, in 1953, Perry, whose regiment had recently been posted to Malaya for service in the 'Emergency' was posted to D Squadron Malayan Scouts/22 SAS to command 17 (Boat) Troop, at the end of WW2 the regular SAS regiments were disbanded, 21 SAS was formed in 1947 as part of the Territorial Army, to act as a reconnaissance unit in the event of a war in Europe, at the start of the emergency, Z squadron of 21 SAS was sent to Malaya and formed the Malayan Scouts, to these men were added volunteers of former WW2 SAS men stood down from service in Korea and from units already in country, initially 2 Squadrons strong, C squadron, raised in Rhodesia joined later, and then D Squadron, raised in 1953, the Malayan Scouts were later renamed 22nd Special Air Service Regiment and reinstated into the regular army, Perrys first Squadron commander was Johnny Cooper one of the original WW2 members of L Detachment/ SAS, Perrys obituary in The Times reads in part 'Perry’s squadron commander, John Cooper, one of the original members of the SAS in North Africa, described the rigours of one operation at the latter end of 1953. The squadron, which owing to leave, training, sickness and parachuting accidents, was just 40 strong, was in the jungle continuously for 122 days, supplied throughout by air. Fifteen men went down with fever or malaria, and two were killed in a CT ambush.

PRINCE - The Dr. Fink Collection: Collection of 39 Prince Archival Cassette Tapes c. 1979 - 1990 - A collection of 39 cassette tapes representing an archive of Academy and Grammy Award®-winning singer-songwriter Prince's rehearsals, live shows, and studio performances between 1979 and 1990. The tapes offer rare insight into the notoriously private musician's process across various eras and projects, with material stretching from his time practising and performing with his band in the late 1970s to the periods just before and after he won his Oscar for the now-classic 1984 film Purple Rain. They also feature the iconic artist instructing his band on how to play their parts during rehearsals, as well as discussing how some of his music should be performed.This lot comes from the personal collection of Grammy Award®-winning keyboardist and producer Matt Fink (known by his stage name Dr. Fink), a member of Prince's band from 1978 to 1991 who notably played as part of The Revolution as well as co-starring in Purple Rain. Each tape comes inside a hand-labelled plastic case, with such labels as "Controversy Rehearsal 1981," "Possessed Show for 1st Live 84," "Get On Up Mountain Long Version 1986," and "Prince Lovesexy Rehearsal 1988," among others. Some of the material, including one tape featuring an unreleased album Prince created as a side project called "The Rebels," is believed never to have been officially released. The Rebels tape is one of very few original cassettes ever made.MP3 and WAV files are also included for every recording in the collection. As the recordings were collected using various technologies, including boom boxes, high-end studio equipment, and mixing boards, the audio quality of the collection differs from tape to tape. This lot comes from the personal collection of Matt Fink (known by his stage name Dr. Fink). The award features a 12-inch platinum-coloured disc and a "Platinum Sales Award" labelled cassette. Along the bottom is a printed copy of the album cover, a metal plaque, and a holographic R.I.A.A (Recording Industry Association of America) certified sales award logo. The lot comes mounted under acrylic in a black frame, and the backing is slightly loose on one side. This lot is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity co-signed by Dr Fink. An old British Army beret with Special Air Service patch

A scarce WW2 era economy pattern plastic / bakelite Parachute Regiment beret badge. Moulded in silver grey plastic with 2 brass blades to the reverse side. Approximately 6.7cm width. Condition: generally very good. A little surface scratching to the reverse from service wear, but no chips or cracks. Both blades in good condition.
