The disapperance sparked an 11-day nationwide manhunt. After an argument with her husband, Archie Christie, who revealed he was in love with another woman, Agatha vanished. Her abandoned car was found near Guildford, but she was nowhere to be seen, leaving only a cryptic letter. The disappearance captivated the public and even involved prominent figures like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Eventually, she was found at The Old Swan Hotel in Harrogate, registered under the name "Mrs. Teresa Neele." Christie provided no explanation for her disappearance, though some believe she suffered from amnesia or a nervous breakdown. The incident remains one of the greatest mysteries in Christie's life, with some speculating it was a publicity stunt, while others think it was an attempt to frame her unfaithful husband.
