One rear leg has been broken and spliced. The front legs have glue around the joints, which looks recent. There is an additional block for support to the underside. Has age so probably 19th century. Seat height is 50cm from the floor.

A George III Mahogany Framed Wing-Back Armchair, 18th century in part, recovered in floral cream damask, with outswept arms and feather filled squab cushion above an upholstered seat rail, on cabriole forelegs with pad feet and joined by a turned H stretcher 85cm by 61cm by 122cmProvenance: The Property of Sir Brooke Boothby, ex Fonmon Castle Legs and framework are very weak. The upholstery has some staining, particularly around the top section (as photographed). The decorative roundel on one arm is missing. The legs have a varnished finished and are heavily bruised. There is some repair work to the cross stretchers. Below the seat and upholstery the structure is good. The framework and legs need attention. The width of the seat at the back is 49cm. The width of the cushion at the maximum point (ie around the arms) is 71cm wide. The depth of the cushion is 54cm. Please see additional images online.

Various small chips to the paintwork. All three pieces with previous paintwork visible. Some further rusting and paint losses around the feet (see images). This is certainly not aluminium, it is cast-iron/metal (very heavy).

A Joined Oak Armchair, probably South Lancashire/North Cheshire, late 17th century, the scrolled top rail above a fielded back support, the central panel with stylised scrolling branches and flowers above downswept arms and gun barrel turned arm supports, the boarded seat above a carved seat rail, on turned forelegs with block feet joined by a peripheral stretcher (retipped)57cm by 41cm by 101cmStructurally weak and with excessive movement in the joints. The top rail has been split/repaired. Some losses to the carved decoration. Later boards to the verso with screws added. The feet have been re-tipped. The boarded seat is later and with a later lock to the underside. Further repair with screws to the front-left block foot. H stretcher is later. Both arms have a spliced repair.
