Ca. AD 300 - 500 . A pair of gorgeous double unguentaria that are free-blown from translucent glass of attractive green hues. The vessels exhibit a pair of cylindrical chambers that are fused in the centre above a mutual base, necks that taper towards the thick rims, and two handles that arch from rim to shoulder. Surrounding the vessel is a single trail of applied glass that gently spirals around the vessel, highlighting the cylindrical forms and concave midsection. The entire vessel is covered with flaky layers of silvery and rainbow-hued iridescence. For similar see: Christie's, Live Auction 6060, Antiquities, lot. 170. Ralph Weston (III) of Wolsingham (Co Durham) - 30-hour oak and mahogany longcase clock c1815-17, With a swan necked pediment, brass parterre and central spire finial, break arch hood door beneath flanked by reeded pilasters with brass capitals, trunk with recessed reeded pilasters and a crossbanded door with a concave top, square plinth on bracket feet, painted dial with floral depiction to the spandrels and a depiction of a boy attempting to catch birds in the arch, with makers name, Roman numerals, five minute Arabic's, minute track and matching steel hands, with dummy seconds and calendar dials and dummy winding arbors, dial pinned via a cast falseplate by Whittaker & Shreeve to a countwheel striking chain driven movement striking the hours on a bell. With weight and pendulum.Notes.The Weston family were a prodigious three generation family of 18th and 19th century Wolsingham clockmakers, all christened Ralph. The maker of this clock Ralph (III) frequently made 30hr clocks such as this possessing features normally found on 8-day clock dials.Both the clockmaker, clock and dial were the subject of a comprehensive five part article in CLOCKS magazine published between Nov 2012 and March 2013. The dial of the clock being of particular interest, manufactured by the Haifax firm of Shreve and Whittaker between 1815-17 . William Shreeve, a highly respected and competent dial painter went into a short-lived partnership with William Whittaker in 1815, however in 1817 Shreeve died in a tragic accident whereby he was burnt to death whilst preparing some of his own paints and varnishes. A Scottish George III mahogany brass dial longcase clock The dial signed George Monro, Canongate The hood with swan-neck pediment and barley-twist columns, the case with shaped door flanked by conforming pilasters above a panelled base box, the 11.75in brass arched dial with silvered Roman and Arabic chapter, subsidiary seconds dial below 12, calendar aperture above 6, with moulded spandrels and the arch inscribed 'Geo. Monro Canongate', the eight-day movement with four knopped pillars, striking on a bell. With pendulum and two weights. 50cm wide x 25cm deep x 217cm high Footnote:George Monro (aka Munro and Munroe) (1724-1804) is recorded as a clockmaker of some repute in Edinburgh. A paper label inside the present lot reads 'George Munro, Canongate Edinburgh, Commenced business on his own account at Canongate Head Edinburgh AD 1750, probably died 1799'.The present lot is accompanied by a service receipt dated June 1986 by Fieldhouse Bros., Wolverhampton with extensive work recorded.

A GEORGE II OAK DRESSER BALA, NORTH WALES, MID 18TH CENTURY With a quantity of 18th and 19th century pewter and an 18th century bronze pestle and mortar 190cm high, 145cm wide, 54cm deep Condition Report: Overall there are some scratches, marks, chips, cracks and abrasions consistent with age and use.There are some losses and restorations incorporating some replacement timbers, some visible, others such as drawer runners, as is usual with oak furniture of this period, part of the charm is the sometimes quirky running repairs. The initials 'EE' are carved to the lower right side of the plate rack.The brass handles could be later, though there is no evidence of previous handle holes to the drawer fronts, the turned wood handles are later replacements.There is some evidence of old worm.The back and underside of the dresser have not been inspected.Overall the dresser has warm variable colour, and good plate rack shape and mortice and tenon arch panelled design.Please see all the additional condition report photographs through the link on the condition report email as a visual reference of condition. Condition Report Disclaimer

Two Masonic Jewels.  To include a Royal Arch Charity Chapter No.1551 PZ Jewel and a Steward Charity & Benevolence Instituted Masonic Jewel.  The Royal Arch Charity PZ Jewel states on the back "PRESENTED TO EX-COMP. R.BLOOMER P.Z. by the Officers & Companions of the CHAPTER OF CHARITY 1551. AS A TOKEN OF ESTEEM & APPRECIATION OF HIS VALUABLE SERVICES AS 37TH. M.E.Z. DURING THE YEAR 1957-58 NOV. 12TH 1958". There is damage to the red enamel on this Jewel.  The Steward Charity & Benevolence Instituted Masonic Jewel is engraved "W.BRO:R.BLOOMER. Served as Steward to R.M.B.I. 1948:R.M.B.I.1950:R.M.I.C.1960.". This Jewel is in good condition commensurate with the age of the piece.

AN UNSIGNED VICTORIAN .850 BRASS-BARRELLED HEARTH-CANNON, no visible serial number, circa 1870, with tapering multiple banded 15in. barrel including cascabel, exaggerated moulding at muzzle, a raised panel near touch-hole possibly once with raised carving of St George and the Dragon, stepped trunnions, the carriage formed from cast iron relief carved and moulded wyverns above a broken arch and with four cast iron trucks of equal size.
