Your chance to net five items of football memorabilia including 1911 Three Lions England shirt

The historical treasure dating back to 1911, which displays the three lions, was uncovered in Wolverhampton by Hansons. It’s now set to go under the hammer on February 18 with an estimate of £800-1200.

The boys Den good

The shirt (pictured top) was worn in an England v Wales British Home Championship game at The Den, London, on March 13, 1911, in front of a crowd of 22,000.

Though records reveal England won 3-0 and provide full team line-ups, it’s not known which England player wore the shirt as it ended up in the possession of Welsh international footballer Ted Vizard.

1966 and all that

Pompey pride

Football memorabilia including Omega watch presented to 1927 Portsmouth FC captain Harry Foxall, estimated at £1000-1500 at Plymouth Auction Rooms on February 12.

It is not just international football memorabilia on offer in the auction houses. Items from the earlier days of many clubs reflecting successful periods in their history, such as archives for key players, are also available.

From 1924-28 Harry Foxall made 166 appearances for Portsmouth FC, scoring 10 times, and was captain of the side which won promotion to Division One in 1927.

On February 12 at Plymouth Auction Rooms an Omega 9ct gold half hunter pocket watch, 9ct watch chain and medallions presented to him by the club is estimated at £1000-1500. The lot includes photographs and a cigarette card showing Foxall.
