Toys and collectables launch the new year in the Cotswolds
16 December 2020 Toy sales are regular staples of the auction world and a Cotswolds firm is kicking off the new year with a sale dedicated to such collectables, particularly dolls and teddy bears.The Post Christmas Sale - including Collection of Antique Dolls and Toys, Antiques and Collectables etc runs at Wotton Auction Rooms in Gloucestershire on January 11.
Proving that toys are not just for children, here are five suggestions on what to buy.
Giant panda at 60cm

Polar bear and friends
The three vintage soft toys offered in this single lot estimated at £50-80 include a 44cm high ‘Ivy’ polar bear by Deans Rag Book produced in 1949 to commemorate the birth of a polar bear cub at London Zoo. The others are a Steiff warthog with prickly fur (pin in ear) and a 1930s soft dog pyjama case.
