Toys and collectables launch the new year in the Cotswolds

Toy sales are regular staples of the auction world and a Cotswolds firm is kicking off the new year with a sale dedicated to such collectables, particularly dolls and teddy bears.

Lot including three vintage soft toys such as an ‘Ivy’ polar bear by Deans Rag Book - estimate £50-80 at Wotton Auction Rooms on January 11.

The three vintage soft toys offered in this single lot estimated at £50-80 include a 44cm high ‘Ivy’ polar bear by Deans Rag Book produced in 1949 to commemorate the birth of a polar bear cub at London Zoo. The others are a Steiff warthog with prickly fur (pin in ear) and a 1930s soft dog pyjama case.
