Toy crazy: five vintage Star Wars figures at C & T Auctioneers and Valuers

Today, C&T Auctioneers and Valuers hold a live webcast auction of 250 items comprising and single owner collection. All lots will be delivered by post, helping bidders stick to social distancing regulations.

Here is a look at some of the auction’s highlights.

Rare vintage Anakin Skywalker

Before Anakin Skywalker was Hayden Christiensen he was played briefly by Sebastian Shaw in The Return of the Jedi. This very scarce Kenner Star Wars: The Power of The Force carded figure is mint and comes with a collector’s coin, part of a Canadian release only from 1985. Anakin Skywalker was the last of the 92-figure run of the original Star Wars Kenner series, it was available as a mail away. It has an estimate of £2500-3500, making it possibly the top lot in the sale.

Artoo-Detoo (R2-D-2)

This Palitoy Star Wars Artoo-Detoo (R2-D-2) vintage original carded figure has an estimate of £600-800 at C&T Auctioneers and Valuers’ online sale today.

Among the most beloved Star Wars characters, who has featured in all the major films, the small droid R2-D-2 opens today’s auction. Estimated at £600-800, this Palitoy 3 ¾ in mint vintage original carded figure comes with a mint bubble on a mint 12b back unpunched card.

‘Chew’ toy

This scarce vintage Kenner Star Wars Chewbacca stuffed toy has an estimate of £120-160 at C&T Auctioneers and Valuers’ sale today.

A slightly different offering is this c.1977 stuffed Chewbacca toy, which comes complete with its original card hangar and is in near mint condition. Another Kenner product, it has an estimate of £120-160.

Boxed tie fighter

This boxed Palitoy Star Wars Darth Vader Tie Fighter has an estimate of £250-350 at C&T Auctioneers and Valuers’ sale today.

Among the vehicles on offer is this boxed figure of Darth Vader’s tie fighter from Palitoy. In mint unused condition, complete with inner-packing, instruction sheet and two unapplied L516 decal sheets, it is offered with an opened box in excellent original condition with an estimate of £250-350.

Darth Vader bop bag

This c.1977 Kenner boxed inflatable Darth Vader Bop Bag has an estimate of £60-80 at C&T Auctioneers and Valuers’ sale today.

Take your feelings out on the ultimate bad guy – or just invest in a great collectable – with this boxed Kenner Darth Vader inflatable Bop Bag. “Sock and bop big Darth Vader he comes right back for more” the box says. The c.1977 toy in mint original condition, original card box is fair to good, some age wear. It has an estimate of £60-80.
