The Fine Rugs & Carpets Department “offers a range of hand-woven rugs and carpets dating from the 17th to the mid-20th century from countries across the Silk Road and Europe”, states the saleroom.

Take on Tabriz
Shown above is a part-silk Tabriz carpet from north-west Persia. Measuring approximately 2.93m x 1.97m, it is catalogued as a “very good type with very nice design and well-drawn motifs”. The “very attractive and great furnishing piece” is estimated at £1400-1800.

Ushak suits you
Described as a “beautifully designed carpet with very good colours”, featuring “full pile of soft and lustrous wool”, this Ushak carpet measures about 3.47m x 2.32m. It is catalogued as being “in very good condition throughout. A very attractive and great furnishing piece.”
