08 October 2024 With the upcoming sale at Apollo Art Auctions including pieces from two large collections, here’s your own chance to own a bit of historyOn October 12 and 13, Apollo Art Auctions is hosting its Fine Ancient Art & Antiquities sale with plenty of eyecatching objects on offer.
With the sale including pieces from two large collections, on offer will be wearable jewellery vetted by an ancient jewellery specialist, military artefacts and decorative pieces which come with historical reports.
Here are six highlights to keep an eye on:
1. Bronze aquamanile
2. Roman amethyst cameo gold ring
3. Apulian red-figure volute krater
4. Greek Corinthian Helmet
5. Byzantine gold enamel earrings
6. Chinese Tang Dynasty terracotta horse
The collection also includes Italian etched and gilt armour attributed to Pompeo della Cesa, which has a starting price £450,000, and a Caucasian shashka that is billed as having belonged to Nicholas II, Tsar of Russia (starting price £900,000).
The showroom will be open for public viewing from October 7 to October 11.
