Fine Auctions in York conducts a timed online sale via thesaleroom.com closing on November 29. It includes this 10oz George III silver mug (above) by Newcastle maker John Langlands and John Robertson (1780). Estimate £500-700.
A George III silver wine funnel (above) by William Plummer, London 1786, has a guide of £200-300 at Canterbury Auction Galleries on November 28-30. The removable strainer is engraved with a crest.
This Edwardian silver and enamelled snuff box (above) is engraved and enamelled with clover, by William J Holmes, Birmingham 1903. It has an estimate of £40-60 at Newton Green, Sudbury, auction house Mander on December 5.
This Victorian novelty seal in the form of a dog’s head (Birmingham, 1891) has a guide of £70-90 in the December 16 Fine Furniture, Works of Art, Silver & Paintings sale at Bishop & Miller of Stowmarket.
Reeman Dansie’s timed online sale of Silver & Silver Plate in Colchester ending on November 29 includes this pair of Edwardian novelty pepper grinders (above) in the form of 2lb bell weights is estimated at £500-700. With engraved armorials verso, they have marks for the maker Mappin & Webb, London, 1902.
