Here we look at some ideal pieces for your home as the days lengthen and cool.
Stay Scandinavian
That’s right, Scandinavian is still very much ‘in’. That’s according to a study conducted by Mojo Mortgages, which analysed Google search volume data for this year’s trends. Scandinavian came out on top with more than 100,000 searches per month.
Get the look with pieces such as this teak and ebonised side cabinet, which features a drinks section and sliding doors. It goes under the hammer at Bearnes Hampton & Littlewood in Exeter on September 9 with an estimate of £50-100.

Go Grandmillenial
But you could also go for the new trend in town.
The ‘Grandmillendial’ Style, first identified in 2019, is still with us according to Elle Décor. So let your love of last year’s (and last century’s) chintz, chinoiserie, needlepoint and wicker roll on. These elements are usually blended with contemporary pieces such as clean-lined furniture. Think patterns and ruffles but with a twist.
If you’re interested in getting the look, check out these cabbage rose chintz curtains on offer at Lyon & Turnbull in Edinburgh. Designed by Colefax & Fowler, four pairs of these 20th century curtains are on offer with an estimate of £300-500 (they are large so check the measurements before you buy).
