Omega is one of the world’s best known watch brands with its timepieces admired for their precision and quality.

As you’d expect for a maker with a long history, vintage examples are highly sought after and examples often appear at auctions on thesaleroom.com.

An Omega gentleman’s wristwatch (ref 1061), pictured above, with a signed silver-tone dial is among the watches offered by Peter Wilson on December 10. It features a gold plated case and expandable strap, and comes with a maker's booklet, international warranty card and box.

The watch was in working order at time of cataloguing and is estimated at £150-250.

3. For her: Rotary nine carat gold watch

Ladies Rotary wristwatch – estimated at £100-200 at McTear’s.

This ladies Rotary nine carat gold manual-wind wristwatch is offered at McTear’s on December 16.

Watches by the Swiss maker remain popular thanks to their sophistication and stylishness are examples are regularly available at auctions on thesaleroom.com.

This example has a nine carat gold clasp, a round white dial and applied gold colour to the baton hour markers. It is estimated at £100-200.

4. For him: Rolex ‘Precision’ watch

Vintage Rolex watches have never been out of fashion. With the combination of elegance, class and technical sophistication, they have stood the test of time remarkably well.

While certain models can make thousands of pounds, an example of a gentleman's 9ct gold ‘Precision’ wristwatch is offered at Mallams on December 8-9 with an estimate of £200-300. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1960.

It has a circular silvered dial and a jewelled manual movement and comes with a case signed Dennison and Rolex. Please note, it does have some condition issues including a missing crown.

5. For him: Gucci ‘Timeless’ watch

Gucci ‘Timeless’ watch – estimated at £70-100 at Fellows.

Gucci may be best known as a high-end fashion brand but has also been a prominent watchmaker in recent decades.

An example of a Gucci gentleman’s ‘Timeless’ bracelet watch is offered at Fellows on December 8.

With a stainless steel case with gold plated bezel, quartz movement and black dial, the movement was functioning at the time of cataloguing.

It is estimated at £70-100.
