Just the tipple: Our pick of five lots of wine and whisky at upcoming dedicated auction
31 January 2022
A wide variety of wine and whisky is offered for sale at auctions on thesaleroom.com.
Having some good friends round at the weekend? Among the many lots with multiple bottles at the W&H Peacock sale is this part case of 4 bottles of Domaine Vieux Telegraph ‘La Crau’ Chateauneuf-du-Pape from 1999. With its own wooden case, the estimate is £80-120. View the catalogue entry here.
Some bottles are primarily sold in order to be drunk while others, depending on their quality and rarity, may be bought for investment.
At most specialist auctions you’ll find wine, whisky and other beverages offered both as single bottles and as multiple bottles in a single lot. You may even find the odd special ‘tasting’ bottle or miniature which may be much smaller.
Among the dedicated drinks auctions coming up is the Vintage & Modern Wines & Spirits sale at W&H Peacock.
