How country house contents could complete your stylish interiors look
09 May 2023 The complete contents sale of a local Wiltshire country house will be sold by auction house Gardiner Houlgate on May 11.
Giving you plenty of wallpower could be this portrait of the Duke of Cumberland in Light Dragoon uniform holding his shako and sword, extensively inscribed on various old labels and catalogue fragments, oil on panel, 34.5in x 24in; in giltwood and gesso frame. Attributed to Circle of Sir William Beechey RA., (1753-1839), it was formerly in the collection Sir Wathen Arthur Waller Bt., Woodcote, Leek Wootton, Warwickshire and also with the International Galleries 161, Strand, London WC2, the picture was with them on June 28, 1950 and was priced at £38.
