Gorgeous glassware to bid for at Elstob & Elstob

Lalique Vase
One of the most sought-after names in glass is René Lalique. The jeweller and glassmaker founded his French company in 1888 in Paris and it has been producing collectable glassware ever since. Designed in 1924, this opalescent vase (above) is titled “Ceylan” and is offered with an estimate of £1800-2500.

18th century wine glass
This air-twist wine glass c.1750 has an estimate of £300-500 at Elstob & Elstob on June 27-28.
Among the more historic items on offers is a multi-spiral air-twist wine glass, c.1750. With an estimate of £300-500 the classic piece is one of the higher-priced pieces of antique glassware, but three are plenty more 18th century examples for less to choose from.

Galle vase
These vintage apothecary bottles are estimated at £80-120 at Elstob & Elstob on June 27-28.
Like Lalique, Émile Gallé is a well-known name in the world of antique glassmaking and is known for his Art Nouveau designs. This signed cameo glass vase, acid etched with green leaves and berries, is one of the more affordable Gallé offerings at the auction with an estimate of £150-200.
