Glorious French glass emerges in Glasgow from a single-owner collection
24 March 2021 Glasgow auction house McTear’s is offering a wide array of Lalique, Daum and Galle glass from a private Scottish collection.It features in the The British & Continental Ceramics & Glass Auction on April 8.
The sale includes 26 lots of Lalique and 22 lots of Daum and Galle from the single-owner collection. Plus many more lots of Loetz, Moser and other art glass.

Lovely Lalique
This Lalique Ronces vase (pictured top) was a 1921 design. In frosted and polished electric blue glass, it has a moulded R LALIQUE mark and stands 24cm high. Estimate £3000-5000.

Parakeet perch
Designed in 1931, this is a Lalique Perruches bowl, 25cm diameter. It is number 419, in frosted and polished clear and opalescent glass, and is etched R LALIQUE. Estimate £2000-3000

Cameo appearance
This Galle cameo glass vase stands 74cm high. It is of large proportions, of gourd form with elongated tapering cylindrical neck, the orange, yellow and frosted glass body overlaid with brown and purple clematis and foliage, with a cameo signature. Estimate £1000-1500.

Blooming marvellous
Another Galle cameo glass on sale at McTear’s is this 22cm high example of oviform with everted rim, the frosted yellow glass body overlaid with blue chrysanthemums, with a cameo signature. Estimate £1000-1500.

Chase Lorraine
Of goblet form, on a circular foot, this Daum cameo and enamelled glass bud vase is 10.5cm tall. The yellow and frosted glass body is overlaid with enamelled sprays of violets and it is signed Daum Nancy 884 with the Cross of Lorraine. Estimate £1000-1500.
