Glamorous glass at Elstob & Elstob

Wine bottle
Made in a striking olive green and of mallet form, this glass wine bottle is from the 18th century. The body is applied with a seal bearing the initials JRS and it is dated 1745. Early bottles of this kind are popular collecting items. It has an estimate of £100-150.
Glass pipe

This glass 18th and 19th century pipe with a wrythen moulded bowl is called a ‘churchwarden’ pipe due to its characteristic long stem. Glass was an uncommon material for tobacco pipes, and this was probably meant as a decorative piece. It has an estimate of £100-150.

Contemporary glass artist Patrick Lepage, who know works in the Loire Valley, was inspired by the work of the Rudier bronze foundry (made famous by sculptors such as Rodin and Maillol) as well as the French glass artist JC Novaro. This example of his work is a heavy frosted glass vase with blue motifs. It has an estimate of £50-70.
Roemers
This set of Bohemian roemers have an estimate of £100-150 at Elstob & Elstob, which offers it during a sale from February 29-March 1.
Roemers are wine glasses with the distinctive stem and bowl shape seen here. This set of six from c.1875 are Bohemian enamelled glass roemers, each painted with an architectural vignette and a heraldic crest. The set is from The Chris Crabtree Collection in North Yorkshire and is available with an estimate of £100-150.
