There are plenty of highlights from local collections and artists to be found at the North Yorkshire auction house which takes place on March 16.

Part of the sale consists of the last part of the Studio of Raymond Booth, a botanical artist and illustrator from West Yorkshire. The majority of his studio was sold in a single owner sale at Tennants in October, but there are 19 additional works available here including “Paphiopedilum Appletonianum”, an oil on paper, estimated at £400-600.

The oil has an estimate of £10,000-15,000.
Still Life with Canisters is the work of Contemporary Dutch painter Henk Helmantel (b.1945) and is offered with an estimate of £8000-12,000.
There are three works by the French Impressionist Adolphe Valette (1876-1942) included in the sale. The artist spent most of his career in England and is best known for his pictures of Manchester and his role as LS Lowry’s tutor. All three scenes have a provenance back to the Perera Collection, the largest group of his works in private hands. This example, A Lively Beach Scene, possibly Wales has an estimate of £8000-12,000.
