Five pieces of Beatles memorabilia to bid for including George Harrison’s former home

Fans of the Fab Four can take their pick of pieces at Omega Auctions’ dedicated Beatles Collection sale taking place on September 28. And with estimates ranging from £30-200,000, there is plenty to suit any pocket.

Here are a few choice items to be found at the Merseyside auction house and online at thesaleroom.com.

Beatles display and signatures

This full set of signatures (above) available in a large display with a page bearing signatures in blue ink with the inscription for Elaine.

The card with the signatures is affixed to a Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club record sleeve with other elements in the display comprising printed images of the group and also a military-style jacket by L Silberston and Sons Limited.

Authenticated by Roger Epperson prior to this sale, it is offered with at estimate of £4000-4500.

George Harrison’s childhood home

The top estimated lot in the sale is a house – the Speke home of George Harrison. George and his family moved into the property in 1950 when George was just 6 years old and here they spent 12 important and happy years prior to moving in 1962. During this period the house became a regular rehearsal venue for The Quarrymen and then latterly The Beatles.

According to the auction house, the successful buyer could apply for a blue plaque for the home from November 2021. It is estimate at £160,000-200,000.

Photo collection

This collection of Beatles-related ephemera is offered with an estimate of £50-80 at Omega Auction’s Beatles Collection sale on September 28.

At the other end of the scale, estimated at £50-80, is this collection of Beatles-related newspapers and ephemera including a photo print from a negative depicting the Beatles performing at the Cavern Club c 1963, three art prints, three Oxfam flyers and nine newspapers with Beatles related historic headlines.

Signed Morecambe and Wise script

This 1963 Morecambe and Wise script, signed by the Fab Four and the comedy duo, has an estimate of £5000-6000 at Omega Auction’s Beatles Collection sale on September 28.

When it comes to Beatles memorabilia, there’s nothing quite like a full set of signatures. But what about a full set on the script of a beloved comedy show? The page has the credits and schedule for the Morecambe and Wise 1963 Christmas show, bearing signatures in blue ink by John, George, Paul and Ringo as well as Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise.

The vendor’s father, Dick Mills, was a scriptwriter for Morecambe and Wise and invited his son, the vendor, to the recording where he obtained the signatures. Authenticated by Roger Epperson prior to this sale, it is offered for £5000-6000.

Yellow Submarine alarm clock

Offered with an estimate of £400-500, this 1968 Yellow Submarine alarm clock goes under the hammer at Omega Auction’s Beatles Collection sale on September 28.

Finally, this Yellow Submarine alarm clock will brighten up any Beatles collection – or interior. The 1968 alarm clock, made by the Sheffield company of West Germany, is catalogued as being in excellent condition and full working order.

It has an estimate of £400-500.
