Five fascinating items of Queen memorabilia to go gaga over at auction

Surrey auction house Ewbank’s is carving out a growing reputation for its specialist sales in this collecting field and has a selection of Queen lots available as part of the January 9 Entertainment, Memorabilia & Movie Props offering.

They have been consigned from the collection of Trudi Humphry, a lifelong fan. She has met the band on numerous occasions, starred in multiple music videos and was heavily involved with The Official Fan Club in London. This led to her having access to the band and attending many concerts and tours with backstage passes.

She also wrote a discographical research biography with Andy Skingle which was printed in the booklet and credited to them in the box set of albums called Queen The Works.

1. Sign of the Queen times

This Queen The Works vinyl LP album cover (pictured top) is signed on the front in silver by Freddie Mercury, Brian May and Roger Taylor - dedicated to superfan Trudi Humphry and signed at Wembley in 1984 (no LP present, cover only).

2. Radio Ga Ga suit with extra value

White paper suit used on the video for Queen’s 1984 song Radio Ga Ga, which is estimated at £1000-1500 in Ewbank's auction on January 9.

This white paper suit consists of a long-sleeve pullover, trousers, and balaclava, signed on the sleeves/body by Queen members Brian May, Freddie Mercury (signed twice) and John Deacon. The ensemble was worn by Trudi Humphry when she featured as a extra on the video for Queen’s 1984 song Radio Ga Ga. They were signed at video shoot at Shepperton Studios, in London on November 1983.

3. Go crazy for Queen

This original tour poster for Queen - Crazy Tour of London 1979 was removed from outside Purley Tiffany's on December 17 that year by the vendor, Trudi Humphry, who was in attendance. The rolled design measures 2ft 3in x 3ft 1in (69 x 94cm).

This Premier Rock CC used Hickory drumstick used by Queen’s Roger Taylor, engraved with his name, is estimated at £150-250 in Ewbank's auction on January 9.
