Five entertainment memorabilia hits from the David Gest Collection auction
03 July 2020 David Gest was certainly well connected, as becomes obvious from the nearly 900 lots coming up for auction. The Ultimate David Gest Personal Collection Film & Pop Memorabilia Collection is being staged by Liverpool auction house Cato Crane on July 8-9.
Gest (1953-2016) was best known in the UK for his appearances on I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and Celebrity Big Brother. He was married to Liza Minelli. As a producer before his reality TV days, he was responsible for the television special Michael Jackson: 30th Anniversary Celebration in 2001 - the last reunion of Michael Jackson and the Jacksons, 17 years after their previous reunion.
Many of the lots on offer have a Jackson connection, but other famous figures to feature through items such as signed photos and cards inscribed to Gest include Prince Charles and Princess Diana, Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, and Sonny & Cher.
Five lots from the David Gest Collection are highlighted below.
