Eartha Kitt, Noel Coward and Harpo Marx memorabilia among big names in Olga Lowe collection sale

She performed and socialised with cinematic and singing greats such as the Marx Brothers, Carmen Miranda, Ivor Novello, Noel Coward, Bob Hope, Clint Eastwood, Richard Burton, Roger Moore, Kenneth Branagh, Eartha Kitt, Pearl Bailey and many others.

Her many credits included Pal Joey, The Pajama Game, Guys and Dolls, Where Eagles Dare, Carry on Abroad, The Avengers, Steptoe and Son Ride Again, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), The Riddle of the Sands, Nijinsky, Uncle Vanya and EastEnders.

A personal collection of autographs, letters and entertainment memorabilia has been consigned to Dorking saleroom Crow's via her spouse Keith Morris and is being offered in a timed online sale running until August 15.

Lowe is pictured above with Sid James (in a photo featured in a lot of six miscellaneous images estimated at £30-50).

Shown here is a letter to Lowe from Eartha Kitt, the American singer, dancer, actor, comedienne and activist who was close friend of Lowe and her first husband John Tore. The letter and three photos are estimated at £80-110.

Harpo to Olga

Harpo Marx signed photo and other items – estimate £400-600 at Crow's Olga Lowe timed online sale ending on August 15.

American comedian, musician and actor, Harpo Marx (1888-1964) was arguably the most adored of the Marx Brothers with his childish antics, musical prowess and sentimental charm.

He also rarely signed autographs. Among four items estimated at £400-600 in a single lot is an unusual handwritten dedication plus autographed photo in sepia tones of Harpo playing the harp and the words To Olga the best trouper I ever worked with, Fondly Harpo '49. Olga appeared with Harpo and Chico Marx in 1949 at the London Palladium and was good friends with Harpo and his wife Susan.

Coward letter

Noel Coward letter, photo and telegram – estimate £150-200 at Crow's Olga Lowe timed online sale ending on August 15.

A personal typed and autographed letter on headed paper from British playwright, actor, composer, director and singer Noel Coward (1899-1973) to Dear Olga and John Tore, thanking them for remembering him on the first night of After the Ball, is estimated at £150-200. It is framed together with a signed photo and also included in the lot is a telegram he sent to Tore.

Pearl Bailey handwritten autographed 1950s black and white publicity photo – estimate £20-30 at Crow's Olga Lowe timed online sale ending on August 15.

American actress and singer Pearl Bailey (1918-90) won a Tony Award for playing the title role in the all-black production of Hello Dolly! in 1968. Estimated at £20-30 in the Olga Lowe auction is a handwritten autographed 1950s black and white publicity photo, To John … Sincerely Pearl Bailey.

Hail Gielgud

Signed Sir John Gielgud letter – estimate £20-30 at Crow's Olga Lowe timed online sale ending on August 15.

Also guided at £20-30 is an autographed letter from British actor of stage and screen Sir John Gielgud (1904-2000) to Tore dated February 6, 1956, on Gielgud’s personal letterhead, thanking Tore for sending him the script Hail Sheba.
