Del Boy's van drives to auction

"Stick a pony in me pocket, I'll fetch the suitcase from the van..."

A van from the TV show Only Fools and Horses

Del Boy used to say: 'He who dares wins.' But on November 26 it will be 'He (or she) who bids wins' as this iconic van comes up for auction.

...so began the lyrics to the theme tune of one of Britain's greatest sitcom's Only Fools and Horses.

And the van in question is up for auction.

Many models of Del Boy's van would have been used in filming the show over many seasons. This particular one was used in various official publicity roles by both the BBC and independent companies.

It has been featured on memorabilia and merchandise and notably the leopard print DVD Complete Series Box Set.

This van once belonged to Perry Aghajanoff, president of the Only Fools & Horses Appreciation Society, and whenever a van was needed for publicity purposes, this was the model that was offered up.

It has also featured in dozens of television appearances relating to the show (such as documentaries and news reports).
