Contemporary art takes on the environmental crisis

With COP26 in full swing in Glasgow here is a charity auction highlighting issues such as climate change.

The Screaming Planet by Jon Horner (b. 1986)

Each artist has decorated a recycled skate deck - the flat part of a skateboard that you stand on - with their take on an environmental issue.

They have been brought together in a sale called 'For Cop's Sake!' arranged by re:ply, which creates upcycled skateboards, and Route One with the funds raised to go to the Environmental Justice Foundation (Charity No. 1088128). No auction fees will be charged.

The auction will be hosted by Forum Auctions on November 12 at 6pm.

The decks are available to view at Route One's store, 254 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow. Below is a small selection of what's on offer. They all come with an estimate of £150-£300. You can place a bid online in advance of the 'For Cop's Sake!' auction via thesaleroom.com.

The auction industry has long promoted upcycling and it gives me great pleasure to assist with raising funds for this critically important cause."
