Art Deco, the movement encompassing design ranging from furniture to fine art, silver to jewellery, transport to architecture, is a popular collecting field.

The term is derived from Arts Décoratifs, from the Exposition internationale des arts décoratifs et industriels modernes (International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts) that took place in Paris in 1925.
Originating just before the First World War, it came to dominate the interwar 1920s-30s period.
On May 26 Cotswolds auction house Kinghams is holding a sale dedicated to this movement, titled Style & Sophistication: A Celebration of Art Deco, offering a wide array of 210 lots.
