Apollo Art Auctions will be offering a collection of ancient art and antiquities at its upcoming sale on December 15, showcasing a selection of Egyptian, Roman, Greek, Viking, medieval, western Asiatic, and more antiquities ranging from 5000 BC through to the 15th century.
The sale will feature items such as a wooden Egyptian boat model dating from the Middle Kingdom period which would have had profound significance in Egyptian beliefs, as they were thought to transport the soul of the deceased to the afterlife.
It will also offer a red jasper vessel which that once would have been used to carry precious perfumes and oils and now carries an estimate of £4500-9000.
