A Regency sampler, worked in coloured silks on linen ground with alphabet, figures, miscellaneous letters, floral meanders, small spot motifs, two large eccentric houses in mirror image with a flight of birds and the woven inscription: "Alison Clow Todd her/Sampler finished/ April 14 1809". 13.75in. x 11.5in. 35cm. x 29cm. + Slight time and dirt staining mainly round sides, stained crease through right house. Framed and glazed.
