A Black Marble Clock with Barometer and Thermometer, French, circa 1870, the 41.2-inch two-piece white enamel dial with visible Brocot escapement and jewelled pallets, with aneroid barometer and Fahrenheit thermometer, in an upswept arched case incised with detail and inlaid in lapis lazuli, the movement striking a bell, the backplate stamped HP & Co 19227, and with 8739 within a lozenge, the moulded plinth with white metal shaped plaque inscribed "Presented to John Roscamp of Acomb Colliery by . . . on his leaving for a more important situation Dec 24 1872", 46.5cm high, with winding key and in original pine carrying case
