On May 20, 1812 an official Post Office was established on the island for the first time. There were three official rate structures during the period
1d. Rate Period, Pre-Adhesive 1842-65 including The Postmasters Stamps
1865 (6 July) envelope (complete with contents regarding a small claim against the Colony) to Hamilton, showing light "bermuda/st. g/paid" datestamp in red (P5); envelope with some minor creasing, otherwise fine and very rare with only five examples recorded. Photo
