Great Britain, Charles II (1660-1685)Silver Crown, 1662, Obv. laureate draped bust right, rose below, rev. inverted die axis, crowned cruciform shields. Edge reads DECVS ET TVTAMEN. Dated edge. ref. S.3351; ESC 344-. 1662 is the first year of the Charles II crown coinage, designed by Rottier, hence a key date in the series. These coins are usually found weakly struck. This Fineexample, which shows the usual heavy wear on the portrait and a small edge knock, is regardless a nice coin for the first year of this type.A coin with VF details, small edge knock, usual heavy wear on portrait but still a Fine coin.
