A George I carved wood and gesso overmantel mirror, circa 1720
now grey painted, with three bevelled mirror panels including etched quatrefoil circle decoration, within a frame carved with flowers, ribbon and acanthus leaves, traces of original gilding below paint, the reverse of the frame inscribed 'Yellow Damask Dressing Room' and the boarded back 'Open End / M[?] North Bedroom'

Until sold with Glemham Hall in 1923 to Captain John Murray Cobbold (1897–1944) and his wife Lady Blanche (1897-1988);

Between 1712-1722 Dudley North carried out alterations at Glemham, so it is possible the mirror was acquired at that point.
