The use of petrified wood with gilt-bronze mounts is relatively rare. A pair of urns is in the Petit Trianon from the collections of Queen Marie-Antoinette, made by Joseph Wurth in Vienna in the 1780's. (P. Verlet, Les bronzes dorés français du XVIIIe siècle, Paris, 1987, p. 237, illustr.).

L'emploi du bois pétrifié avec des montures de bronze doré est relativement rare. Nous connaissons une paire d'urne conservée au Petit Trianon provenant des collections de la reine Marie-Antoinette, réalisée par Joseph Wurth à Vienne dans les années 1780. (P. Verlet, Les bronzes dorés français du XVIIIe siècle, Paris, 1987, p. 237, illustr.).
