on a rectangular base on eight ball-feet, with an enamelled dial with arabic numbers circa 1790; (the dial case and the drapery 19th century)

This mantel clock is based on a model by François Vion, master in 1764, (see H. Ottomeyer and P. Pröschel, et al, Vergoldete Bronzen, vol.I, Munich, 1986, p. 180, pl. 3.7.8), whose pen-and-ink drawing from his workshop in 1770 is kept in the Bibliothèque Doucet in Paris.

Cette pendule au cheval est tirée d'un modèle de François Vion, maître en 1764, (voir H. Ottomeyer et P. Pröschel, et al., Vergoldete Bronzen, vol.I, Munich, 1986, p. 180, pl. 3.7.8), dont le dessin à la plume de son atelier en 1770 est conservé à la Bibliothèque Doucet à Paris.
