modelled after the Penfold post box, the foliate-carved top surmounted by a finial and resting on a beaded frieze, the front with a brass flap reading LETTERS above a hinged panel door opening to the ebonised interior, the door with a brass-framed window containing a later facsimile of a list of postage rates, the plinth base with a single drawer, the base covered with later green baize
