A parcel-gilt silver covered bowl and stand, Charles Glachant for Boucheron, Paris, circa 1880
acid-etched with swallows, maple foliage and a rabbit on matted ground, the handles in bound bamboo, the cover with an openwork rim of geometric motifs, Fo dog shaped-finial, gilt interior

Boucheron sait en effet s’adjoindre la collaboration des meilleurs artisans dont notamment Charles Glachant, qui travaille pour Froment-Meurice, et qu’il sous-traite pour de nombreux projets d’orfèvrerie mais surtout Paul Legrand (1840-1910). Legrand rejoint la maison en 1867 en tant que chef d’atelier et produit parmi les pièces les plus originales qui permettent à Boucheron d’obtenir la ‘grande médaille’ pour la joaillerie-bijouterie à l’Exposition Universelle de 1878.
