In 1891, José Emilio Terry (1853-1911), a deputy from Havana in Cortez, Spain, bought the famous Château de Chenonceau. After five years, he sold it to his brother Francisco Xavier on 10 April 1896 for 1,080,000 francs. The son of Cuban banker, landowner and sugar planter Thomas Terry (1808-1886), Francisco Xavier (1850-1908) had four children: two daughters, Nathalie and Odette, and two sons, Francisco and Emilio. Nathalie inherited the estate on her father's death and married Count Marie Charles Stanislas de Castellane Novejean. Her brother Emilio Terry went on to become a renowned architect, draughtsman, decorator and landscape gardener.

Le chateau de Chenonceau, en 1891, est achété par José Emilio Terry (1853-1911), député de La Havane à Cortez, Espagne. Après cinq ans, il le vendit à son frère Francisco Xavier le 10 avril 1896 pour 1 080 000 francs. Fils du banquier cubain, propriétaire terrien et planteur de sucre Thomas Terry (1808-1886), Francisco Xavier (1850-1908) aura quatre enfants : deux filles Nathalie et Odette, et deux garçons Francisco et Emilio. Nathalie, hérite du domaine au décès de son père et elle épousera le comte Marie Charles Stanislas de Castellane Novejean. Son frère Emilio Terry deviendra un architecte, dessinateur, décorateur et paysagiste très reconnu.
