A Creussen pewter-mounted stoneware tankard (Apostelkrug) late 17th century decorated with an applied band of figures representing Christ and the Twelve Apostles, each named and picked out in colours, between painted foliate bands, the base with an inscription in white, the pewter cover with a profile bust of a bearded man in armour facing sinister, inscribed 'PIERRE STROSSY CHEVALIER DE LOR.DV ROY. ET. MAR.DE ..' 23.5cm., 9.25in. some minor wear to enamels
