In this work the author uses an abstract language, based on irregular geometry, with an organic character both in its outline and in the colours. It is an open style, whose basic characteristic is the conception of the pictorial surface as a whole, as an open field, without limits and without hierarchy. Thus, as we see here, the pictorial forms are the result of a thought-out composition and experimentation, with an image of a gestural character, not limited to a composition but going beyond it, indicating to the spectator that it is about forms, ideas or suggestions that go beyond the frontiers of the purely pictorial.
Born in Ourense but trained in Fine Arts at the San Jorge School in Barcelona, his first exhibition was held at the Ateneo de Orense in 1971. Since then he has frequently participated in group exhibitions in Galicia and Catalonia, where in 1987, invited by the Generalitat, he represented Galicia, together with Antonio Saura, García Berlanga, César Manrique and Baltasar Porcel, in the "Encuentros de Antropología y diversidad hispánica" (Meetings of Anthropology and Hispanic diversity). Antón Pulido has been completely involved in the production of artistic portfolios (with titles such as "O home", "O abrazo" and "A espera") and publishing projects. He held the title of director of the Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea, an aspect that gave him the opportunity to exhibit his works in important exhibitions. His language is linked to German post-war expressionism, using a Fauvist colour palette. Each of his works, with a great emotional charge and contained tension, seeks to denounce, constituting a tribute to the figure of man and his solitude.
