Size: 130 x 97 cm; 134 x 100,5 cm (frame).
Willy Ramos emigrated at the age of fourteen from his hometown, Pueblo Bello, to Valencia, where he currently lives. In Valencia he studied at the Escuela de Bellas Artes de San Carlos, graduating in 1974. Since then he has not ceased to hold exhibitions, both individual and collective. He later completed his studies with a course at the Escuela de Pintura Mural Contemporánea de Sant Cugat del Vallès, in Barcelona, and another in Engraving and Lithography at the Instituto Estatal de Arte de Urbino, in Italy. He also holds a Doctorate Cum Laude in Fine Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, and is a tenured lecturer there. His paintings are reminiscent of those of great 20th century masters such as Kandinsky and Matisse; instead of literally representing his favourite subjects - flowers, landscapes and figures - Willy Ramos paints an idea of nature, and does so with a vibrant chromatism, working in oil, watercolour and charcoal. This painter has exhibited in various art galleries and art centres, and has also participated in international fairs such as Art Madrid, ARTBO or those of Toulouse, Marbella, Milan, Parma or Miami, among others. He is currently represented in centres and institutions such as the Museum of Contemporary Art of Elche and the Caja Mediterráneo Collection, among others.
