Produced in the workshop "Babalú Ayé" (Havana) with laser technology and internal illumination.
Measurements: 45 x 67 x 37 cm.
The author recreates her own face through methacrylate. In such a way that she conceives her self-portrait through a transparent material that allows the spectator to go inside the artist. In fact, the piece has LED lights that illuminate the work. The author is shown through her bust, with her hair tousled and her tongue out, adopting a carefree and amusing attitude. Curiously, two small red high heels are placed on her tongue. Thus uniting the expressiveness of the author and her own language with the world of shoes. The piece is made in the Babalú Ayé workshop in Havana, an art and production laboratory that offers laser cutting and engraving services. This workshop is led by the artist Luidmila López, and has recently opened its doors in Madrid.
Liudmila López began her training in Plastic Arts at the Escuela Vocacional de Santiago de Cuba and four years later continued her studies at the Escuela Profesional de Bellas Artes José Joaquín Tejada in Santiago de Cuba. Throughout his career he has developed a multidisciplinary artistic production approaching different artistic disciplines such as, for example, painting, engraving, performance or sculpture. This diversity is also reflected in the materials he uses, such as ceramics, marble, resin, feathers, leather, etc. He has participated in more than 30 personal exhibitions at national (Cuba) and international level. In addition, he has participated in numerous group exhibitions in places such as; Australia, Italy, Spain, Austria, Mexico, United States, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Peru and Cuba, as well as in contemporary art fairs.
