Property of a deceased estate - a group of studio pottery items including a stoneware dish by David Frith (b.1943), impressed monogram & Brookhouse Pottery mark, 10.4ins. (26.4cms.) diameter, and two Boscean Pottery dishes by Scott Marshall (1936-2008), impressed monograms, each 7.2ins. (18.3cms.) diameter (a lot). Provenance - Kathleen Ellen Marigold Austin (1929-2018), a potter herself who started at Carter Stabler Adams Poole Pottery in the 1950's before embarking on a teaching career and starting a pottery at Cheverton with Ann Stannard, and later on her own at the Calendula Pottery in Hertfordshire. She collected the works of many other potters including Bernard Leach, Shoji Hamada and Michael Cardew, acquiring pieces directly from the potters or at exhibitions like those at The Arts Council.
