1961 Skoda Octavia Saloon Reg. no. 798 KTX Chassis no. 421257 Engine no. 421257 The Skoda Octavia
Reg. no. 798 KTX
Chassis no. 421257
Engine no. 421257
The Skoda Octavia was a small family car produced by Czechoslovakian manufacturer AZNP and it was introduced in January 1959, being called Octavia due to the fact that it was the eighth car produced by the nationalised Skoda company. The saloon was produced until 1964, when it was replaced by the Skoda 1000 MB. An estate version was introduced in 1961, and remained in production until 1971. This excellent example, finished in ‘oatmeal’ livery was fully restored in 2013. Purchased new by a Skoda garage in 1961, this car has had two previous owners, and after 19,800 miles, it became surplus to requirements and was then placed aside in a storage garage. The second owner purchased the car in 1992 and then the current owner bought the car in 2012. In its current ownership, a complete bare metal re-spray has been carried out with new front and back panels and also two new sills, at a total cost of £2,500. In addition new tyres were fitted, the master cylinder was rebuilt, new brake seals were fitted and all brightwork was reconditioned. We understand that the brakes require bleeding and the hand brake will need some adjustment. It is offered with a V5c.and a letter confirming the mileage in 1961.
