Description
Waffen-SS M35 double decal helmet ET64
Rare M35 double decal Waffen-SS / SS-Verfügungstruppe helmet. This helmet has certainly seen some years of service. There are three decals to either side which means this helmet would have had multiple new layers of paint during the war. It could have had a rough mid-war paint for example covering the original decals and received new decals on top. This gray paint was removed and the decals was what remained. You can even see a bit of white paint left to the inside which could indicate it was totally covered with white winter camo paint once. This helmet was definitely black painted as well. It could have been done period time or also postwar. The condition of the helmet as it is today is a good 2-. You got about 60-70% of its original apple-green paint. Also a few rust pits. The size 56 stamped liner seems to be matching and is still very soft. Hard to photograph but it is clearly 1938 dated to the ring. The rivets sit strong and the prongs look to be straight. The chin strap is A.FISCHER maker marked and 1939 dated. The shell is ET64 stamped. The lot number is very hard to read (please see last picture). A very rare helmet. Kuddlwascher. http://www.dws-xip.pl/reich/biografie/numery/numer8.html
