C. 450 -100 BC. La Tene culture. A long iron sword with a pointed, tapering, bevelled blade, and a long tang for affixing a handle to the blade. Iron weapons were an important part of La Tene culture, often appearing in warrior’s graves. Weapons such as this sword served as powerful reminders that authority rested in the hands of those who could earn it. Good condition; on a custom stand. Size: L:1010mm / W:40mm ; 500g; Provenance: From an old British collection of Asian Art formed in the 1990 on the UK and European art market.
