Important Information
The spring auction of Old Master Prints will take place on Thursday, April 17th at 18:00. CET. This Life Online auction offers more than 300 lots, ranging from early colored woodcuts, created shortly after the invention of printing, to etchings and engravings from all the high-quality periods and schools from the golden age of graphic art. The auction includes works of art with humanistic, religious, and historical themes, as well as landscapes and scenes from everyday life, from the period up to around 1650. Special attention is given to works by great masters such as Rembrandt, Goltzius, and Dürer. Additionally, there is an exceptional selection of mainly early prints by Adriaen van Ostade, including a first state of "The Schoolmaster" from 1644 and a rare embroidered copy of "The Table Prayer" from 1653, probably embroidered in the 17th century. In the Italian art section, the deformed character heads by Leonardo da Vinci are striking. For Flemish art, there is an extremely rare complete set of hunting scenes after Hans Bol, "Venationis, piscationis, et aucupii typi" - 1582. There are no viewing days, but the auction catalog with multiple high-resolution images per lot is available at oldmasterprint.net. Bids can be placed live online or in writing, and telephone bids are possible upon request.

Live bidding may start higher or lower.
Buyers Premium: 28% including the internet fee of the bidding platform.
Unlike most other auction houses, there is no extra charge on top for bidding through the bidding platforms. (usually extra 5% on the hammer price by other auction houses.)
Every buyer is supposed to know and comply with the import regulations of his or her country of destination. The auction house can not be held responsible for the height of the import tax or any problems arising with the export of the goods. By taking part in our sales any person agrees to these condition, be it directly through us or through one of our partners which allow bidders to bid with us.
Placing bids:

*By entering a bid on the invaluable platform in the days/weeks before the auction,

*Through the invaluable live bidding platform during the event.
* Telephone bidding during the auction is possible according to availability. Make your reservation for telephone bidding at least two days in advance by email.
The sale has an international audience and works with written bids or internet bids only. The internet bids can be made before the start of the sale or 'live' during the sale. For reasons of efficiency no physical inspection of the goods is provided.
Each lot is described to the best of our ability and in good faith. No responsibility will be taken for faults or incomplete info. If you are uncertain of an aspect of the item we advise you to conduct your research in advance to stand stronger while bidding. Please feel free to ask us for more info.
The condition is shown by photo's. Please check them before bidding and feel free to ask more info if needed. Additional questions about condition or description must be send 48 hours prior to the start of the live sale.
Old Master Print cannot be held responsible for any technical failure of one of the auction platforms involved in the bidding process. Old Master print takes also no responsibility for any misuse of login data unless this is caused by intent or gross negligence by Old Master Print or one of his co-operators.
The Belgian law dated 15/08/2020 transposes European Directives 2018/843 and 2015/849, whose aim is to prevent the use of the financial system for the purposes of money laundering or the financing of terrorism. This law requires all players in the arts and antiques businesses, to request and register the identity of all parties involved in any transaction whose value is €10,000 or more. If a party concerned is a company, we are also required to request information on the company statutes or the identity of the ultimate beneficiary. These data remain exclusively in the possession of the auction house, and will be processed in strict compliance with the General Data Protection legislation.
All disputes over the sale fall as appropriate, under the jurisdiction of the Belgium law, regardless of the domicile of the parties. The Courts of Belgium, and in particular, the justice of peace of the District of IZEGEM or the courts of the judicial district of West Flanders, KORTRIJK section, have exclusive jurisdiction to settle all disputes arising in connection with all aspects of all matters or transactions to which these Conditions of Business relate or apply
The European consumer protection and, in particular, the strict Belgian implementation is applicable. A private citizen if resident of the European Community can return the item for a full refund within 14 days after receipt without limitation of his other rights as provided by the European consumer protection.

Payments must be made in full within 7 business days after receipt of the invoice.
OLD MASTER PRINT is not responsible for the lots if they are not paid, picked up or mailed within the prescribed period. OLD MASTER PRINT cannot be held responsible for damage or loss of the goods after a period of two months after the date of the sale.
OLD MASTER PRINT reserves the right to charge the credit card of the buyer 7 days after the sale if not paid before, this according the authorization given by the buyer during the registering process of his credit card on the auction platform.
No responsibility will be taken for the lots if not paid within the prescribed period.
If a lot is not paid in full within 2 weeks, an interest will be charged of 12% a year. If full payment is not made after one month old master print reserves the right to resell the lots and charge the original defaulting bidder with both the difference and the expenses incurred.
Shipping:
Buyer pays shipping costs.
All customs charges, import taxes, other taxes and costs must be paid by the buyer.
We organize all shipping, worldwide at fixed prices no matter how many items are combined in the sending:
Europe: 38 €
Outside Europe: 65 €
All Items must be paid in full before they will be shipped.
Items will be send insured. An insurance fee might be added to the invoice.
Claims for lost or broken items during transport are handed over to the insurance policy of the shipper and be reimbursed according to their terms. Old master print cannot be held responsible for any additional compensation for the loss or damage of the item.
The buyer is free to organize his own shipping at his own expense.
The items can only be released after full payment.
If the buyer arranges his own shipment or pick-up, OLD MASTER PRINT can not be held responsible for damage or loss of the goods after a period of two months after the date of the sale.
